Advanced Component Technologies, Inc. (ACT) was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary through the acquisition of the Carroll George Company on January 1, 2000 by Angus Industries, Inc.

The primary products produced by ACT are secondary non-metallic structures to support the needs of the "Off Highway Vehicles" market. New market direction and products have expanded the Company's focus to include; Heavy Truck, Recreational, Mass Transit & Bus and stationary machinery. Acoustical and esthetic trim components and plastic trim are the primary products produced by ACT. These include headliners, interior and exterior fenders, sunvisors, roof caps, engine covers, hoods, floor mats, under body insulation, firewall barriers and various other trim and acoustical products. The Company has developed key relationships and strategic alliances to service the needs of their global customer base.

The original Company was founded in 1965 by Carroll George and was subsequently named Carroll George Inc. The Company was located in Northwood, Iowa with 4 associates and 3,200 sq. ft. of manufacturing space. The primary products consisted of cushions and drapes for RV industry and expanded in the late 1960's to include the manufacturing of seats.

From 1972 to 1982 the Company expanded its product offering to include acoustical interior trim for the agricultural market. With this expansion the company focused all efforts of the growth of "Sound Reduction" interiors for the "Off Highway Vehicles" market and discontinued the supply of cushions, drapes and seats. The Company continued this focused direction through the late 1990's adding construction, forestry and truck markets to the already established agricultural market.

With a new management team, ACT has focused on product expansion in thermoformed plastics and market diversification to include truck and recreational markets.

Since Advanced Component Technologies, Inc. was formed, the Company has since increased its efforts on new products, new markets and new technologies to continue to support our global customer base. Our manufacturing methodology utilizes Lean Manufacturing, Cellular Flow and 6 Sigma processes.

The company has grown to 200 associates and 144,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing.
